SERVICES
Having played at hundreds of weddings for over 30 years, Ben is the right choice to create the perfect music for yours. Ben is classically trained on guitar, but also has equally long professional experience playing many other styles. This deep professional background enables him to adapt literally any style of music to solo guitar, including everything from classical to classic rock, contemporary pop, movie themes, country and even video game music! Being so accomplished at such a wide variety of styles sets Ben apart from anyone else.

His services typically start with the ceremony, including prelude music and songs for the processional, recessional, and special music during the ceremony. All music can be chosen by you, or Ben can assist with suggestions from his wide ranging songlist. If you decide on a song that's not currently on Ben's list, he can usually learn one or two songs especially for you at no charge.

OPTIONS
Ben also offers several options that may be added on to your wedding-music package if desired:

  • Providing a microphone for use during the ceremony,
  • Playing guitar for the cocktail hour, and
  • Adding his vocal talents to the cocktail music. This is a great option if you're looking for something a little more upbeat. Ben's repertoire with vocals goes much further into the classic rock style, which can be just the right thing to get the party started.

    FULL BIO
    Ben Sherman grew up studying classical music, listening to jazz, and teaching himself rock and roll, and has performed professionally in all those styles for over 30 years. This experience gives Ben the unique capability to easily accomodate whatever type of music is requested by you.

    Throughout his career, Ben has maintained a commitment to classical music, following ten years of study and a degree from Towson State University in classical guitar performance in the 1980's. Since then, Ben has performed at hundreds of weddings and special events in Baltimore, D.C., northern VA and south-central PA. His classical training has also allowed him many exciting and varied performing opportunities, including a long running weekly engagement at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. D.C. in 2004. Ben is a long-standing professional member of the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society.

    For over three decades Ben has been a working professional musician in the Maryland area, performing thousands of gigs in a broad variety of styles. His current activities include a full-time teaching schedule and a recording career, having produced two CDs of original jazz-rock music. His first guitar instruction book is currently in production. Ben has been honored many times for his achievements on the guitar, including three Rammie Awards, a feature in Guitar Player magazine and winning Best Instrumental Musician in the Music Monthly Readers' Poll.
